Flat Octopus had a studio visit with the Swedish painter Ebba Jordelius in her atelier at Elektravägen in Västberga. The studio was filled with a special cool-warm winter light and enhanced the unique pastel shaded tones seen in Jordelius works. Working with oil on canvas, her paintings range from landscapes to depicting still and stiff figures; both nature and humans seem to have been paused in the moment or cast under a spell. A feeling of solitude and melancholy, but at the same time soothing can be found in most of her works.
We exhibited Jordelius at two of our Painters’ Salons, at Candyland in 2021 and Molekyl gallery last year.
Ebba Jordelius is a painter educated at the Gerlesborg School of Fine Art in Bohuslän and Konstfack. Also a trained biologist who works with climate issues. She has taken the course Performative criticism at the Royal Institute of Arts and collaborated with poets, composers and others.
