Flat Octopus is starting an artist-in-residence programme. In 2024, we pilot the idea of inviting one or two artists each year whom we will host for a couple weeks in our countryside residency in north Småland. The resident artist will receive travel support, accommodation and studio space, as well as a solo exhibition opportunity and a small production budget.
Without the pressure of producing work, the artist will have the time and peace in the middle of the picturesque surroundings near the Swedish east coastline to reflect upon their work and consequent exhibition and will have the opportunity to present their practice to the local community.
