Flat Octopus had the pleasure of visiting the studio of the Swedish artist Martin Ålund as a part of our studio sessions. Martin showed paintings from his recent series ‘Otherworld’, an impressive collection of semi-figurative semi-abstract thoughtful works dealing with the dark and the lighter sides of the human consciousness, sentience, and the overlapping of different realities.
It was quite fascinating to see this massive body of work and the thoughts put into their production, including the performative elements of the creation process.
