At Juxtapose Art Fair 2023, Flat Octopus recreates the safe, warm feeling of coming back home to your favourite armchair. Soft breeze is whispering in the pine branches behind the window as you ponder your questionable life choices and wait for the phone to ring.

Bengt Jahnsson-Wennberg (b. 1965), graduated from The Umeå Art Academy in 1993. Lives in Stockholm and works with paintings and installations that have a narrative character. He is also active as a writer. On 16 September his second novel “Vad är klockan, egentligen?” will be released by the Swedish book publisher Mormor.

Alice Máselníková (b. 1989) is a Czech painter based in Stockholm. Her work addresses themes of nature, mythology, dreams, longing, relationships, and failure. Aside from her painting practice she writes poetry. She is one of the three creative directors of Supermarket – Stockholm Independent Art Fair, founder of the artist-run initiative Flat Octopus, and also works as a freelance editor, curator and cultural funding consultant.

Jesper Thour (b. 1993) is an artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. His work revolves around the boyhood world, he talks about group constellations. He often refers to memories from his own childhood in the forests of Småland. He usually expresses this in paintings and through scenery-like artworks. He graduated from Konstfack in 2021 and is now represented by Gelleri Hedenius in Stockholm.

Juxtapose Art Fair is an international biennial for artist-run exhibition spaces and other independent projects. Juxtapose is a non-commercial art fair initiated in 2021.
