Flat Octopus invites the Polish artist Joanna Sieradzka for an exhibition at Aspen Bio.
Joanna Sieradzka (b. 1986, Poznań, Poland), graduated with MFA in Painting (2014) from University of Fine Arts in Poznań/ (2016) Chalmers. Interested in representations that refer to nature, everyday life and paintings that evolved from other techniques like collage, drawing, animation. Joanna had several solo exhibitions in Poland and participated in group shows, namely the R-Lab course exhibition at Royal Institute of Arts (2017) in Mindepartementet, Stockholm.
Favourite movie: I was impressed by ‘13 lakes’ by James Benning in the cinema. A very static movie, a bit like a painting.
Favourite song: Too many.
Favourite museum: I would like to visit Kiasma in Helsinki.
Favourite artist: There are some artistsI like to listen, some that do great work and some who became famous or died unknown
Favourite city: In every city where the government respects citizens can you find an interesting place.
Favourite colour: The entire palette.
Favourite painting: Every day I can find a new, interesting one.
Favourite book: I read a lot of newspapers recently.
Favourite drink: I drink too much of Coca-Cola.
Favourite meal: Without a 4 leg animal inside.
Favourite animal: Both, cats & dogs.
Favourite moment of the day: Morning.
Aspen Bio is a new cultural meeting place, a grassroot project and cultural organisation in Aspudden. Aspen is primarily an arthouse cinema that does not fear the box office hits, but they are also a new platform for organising, participation and involvement of culture. Aspen as a stage room precent music, theater, standup shows and their next stop soon to come, is the grand opening of Aspen Bistro.
